St Elizabeth's Church, Horwich - A Church Near You

A vibrant church serving God and the community. We are a family-friendly church with both traditional and more contemporary services to suit the whole family. St Elizabeth's Church welcomes you. We are part of the Horwich and Rivington Team of Churches. We are very pleased to announce that our Curate Revd Nicola Butterworth has been appointed Team Rector of the United Benefice of Horwich and Rivington. Revd Nicola's licensing service will take place on July 18th at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church We are now open for public worship every Sunday at 9.30am, (with an additional Prayer Book service at 8.30am on the first Sunday of the Month). Face coverings are no longer compulsory but are recommended. Hand sanitiser will be available and if you wish to sit away from others please speak to the wardens. Groups which may choose to meet in church will be permitted as long as appropriate risk assessments are in place. Mid-week Holy Communion on Wednesdays at 9.30am alternates between Holy Trinity Church and St Elizabeth's Church. No booking required but social distancing and the wearing of face masks are still recommended. Please see our weekly Team newsletter for details of the dates for each church. Comfort for these times: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) Safeguarding We are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
